About Us
The Full Story
The Way started as a humble worship group at a local church in the DFW area. Under the direction of Dave MacDonald (DMac), the band took on the role of worship band for Open Door Ministries and Kairos Prison Ministry in the area. We served at Telford Maximum Security Prison in East Texas and the Estes Prison Unit in Venus, Texas.
The band began to grow and serve in many other areas, always ready to bring worship wherever needed and wanted. But we still needed a name.

Since we serve a Mighty God, whose Son gave His life for all of us, it was natural to name this group after the Son that gave us life. In John 14:6 Jesus tells us, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Using that as our inspiration, we took on The Way as our name.

Outside our Kairos Ministry work, or because of the fact we have those roots, we did the first-ever live ministry concert at the Telford Prison Unit, performing for the “men in white.” We were able to bring in the message of Jesus and let them know they are loved and cared for by the Father and those of us wishing they find His love.
Since then, we have worshiped for the Waxahachie Homeless Coalition, performed at hospitals for the brave men and women who served during the pandemic, and continued to serve Kairos and Walks to Emmaus.

We have been very blessed to help many churches with anything from Dmac as a worship leader or supplemental band members, to providing a full worship band for Sunday worship on an interim basis. We are a non-denominational band and have led and provided worship in Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, and denominational churches.

Our mission is to prepare the hearts and minds of the audience of the highest King to receive the message of God.
